The Foundation was established in 1969 as a non-profit, financially self-sufficient auxiliary.

MISSION

The California State University, Bakersfield Foundation is dedicated to advancing the mission, vision and priorities of California State University, Bakersfield.

PROCESS

The Foundation is dedicated to maximizing support from the private sector. We accomplish this important work by:

• investing the endowment to increase the value of existing gifts,
• investing foundation funds in approved CSUB programs,
• servicing all CSUB foundation fund accounts,
• providing the centralized infrastructure and services that support these efforts and
• maintaining the CSUB alumni and donor database.

The Foundation partners with and serves all members of the CSUB campus.

As a private non-profit corporation, a board of directors governs the Foundation. The principal function of the board of directors is to establish policies and guide the Foundation in achieving its objectives. Board members work closely with the president and other campus leaders to increase private support to the campus. To that end, the Foundation coordinates its operations with the operations of the campus to help enhance the educational and cultural environment of the university and the community it serves.
